Hi! I’m Sinclair Sexsmith, and I run the online personal writing project Sugarbutch Chronicles: The Sex, Gender, & Relationship Adventures of a Kinky Queer Butch Top (that would be me). I’m a writer, storyteller, and performer who studies critical feminist & gender theory, sexual freedom, social change activism, archetypes, and the tantric and buddhist spiritual systems. I am currently based in New York City.
I teach workshops on gender and sexuality throughout the US, including at various colleges, The Center for Sex Positive Culture in Seattle, the KinkForAll Unconferences, the Lesbian Sex Mafia in New York City, The Center for Sexual Pleasure & Health in Rhode Island, Good Vibrations, and many queer and feminist sex toy stores.
One of my most popular classes is Cock Confidence, which is a strap-on 101 class (though there is also an Advanced Cock Confidence class) focusing on the psychology of strapping on, gaining confidence, working with physical communication, and gaining more sensation for both wearer and receiver. I also spend a lot of time going over my favorite product recommendations: the most popular things that are available on the market, as well as my personal favorites. I’ve done this class dozens of times and it’s become one of my signatures, and I’ve always been looking for a way to give folks an easy place to shop after attending, and to reference products later that I showed off or discussed in class.
And voila, the Cock Confidence Product Guide was born. I hope you find just what you’re looking for.
In addition to my workshops, I’ve published erotica in over a dozen anthologies, and I write critical essays for various places, like SexIsMagazine.com, AfterEllen.com, and LambdaLiterary.org. I coordinate erotic energy workshops with the Body Electric School, with whom I has studied for nearly ten years, and I am on the board of the Lesbian Sex Mafia, the oldest continually running women’s BDSM support and education group in the US. My first full-length erotica anthology, Say Please: Lesbian BDSM Erotica, will be published by Cleis Press in April 2012.
